Freecom, the leading European IT manufacturer in the field of storage solutions, has announced its foray into the Middle East and North African market. Freecom, which had recorded US$ 200 million in global revenues in 2006, has appointed PRO TECHnology, the leading integrator of storage and high availability solutions in the Middle East, as the sole distributor for its products in the Middle East and North Africa.
Freecom Technologies successfully combines German engineering expertise with the grace of European styling to produce a full range of appealing, reliable, and easy to use multimedia storage products. The Freecom range currently includes external hard drives, flash-memory units, DVD burners and professional storage systems targeted at both end-users and business customers.
“The Middle East and North African technology market has been growing rapidly in the last few decades and we strongly believe that it is essential for us to be a player in such market. Having achieved US$ 200 million in global revenues in 2006, we now turn our attention to the MENA region,” said Christian Dijkhof, Director International Sales & Sales Development, Freecom. “We aim to take advantage of PRO TECHnology’s well-established presence in the regional market and look forward towards consolidating our position in the region.”

The elegant and sophisticated design of the new Freecom hard drive series, DataTank, Hard Drive Pro, Hard Drive and Mobile Drive, has just convinced the jury of the renowned iF Product Design Award, who have now awarded this quartet of hard drives the coveted iF Design Product Award 2007.
