A French television network was hacked by individuals claiming allegiance to Daesh (ISIS), AP has reported the channel's director as saying.
Television broadcasts were interrupted briefly on 11 channels belonging to TV5 Monde, and its websites and social media accounts were also taken over.
The channel's director, Yves Bigot, said he was "shaken" by the incident and seeing the channels with a black screen.
Part of a message on the TV5 Monde website said "I am IS" with a banner by a group that called itself Cybercaliphate. That was replaced later Thursday by a simple message saying that it was undergoing maintenance.
The AFP news agency said that the also hackers posted documents on the Facebook page belonging to TV5 Monde, saying that they were the identity cards and CVs of relatives of French military members involved in operations against Daesh.
