Galileo Awarded “Best GDS” in Travelweekly Asia’s
Inaugural Travel Industry Awards

Galileo, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and subsidiary of Travelport, has won the “Best GDS” category at Travelweekly Asia’s prestigious travel industry awards.

The awards, which were held on Friday, 15 June at The Harbour Plaza Metropolis in Hong Kong, recognized the best in the Asian travel industry, acknowledging their contributions to tourism. It was the first awards ceremony to be hosted by the region’s leading travel trade publication.

Simon Nowroz, Managing Director of Galileo Asia, said, “This is absolutely fantastic news for Galileo and confirms our position in Asia as the system of choice for both travel suppliers and travel agents.  Our team here has worked very hard to deliver leading-edge products and extensive travel content designed to help our customers manage their businesses more efficiently. Noted in particular by the judges was Galileo’s ease of navigation, extensive content and the company’s track record in innovation, demonstrated in new products such as the launch of Galileo Leisure and Galileo Reach, as well as Galileo’s continued leadership role in offering Hotel Best Available Rates content.
