GAM and the Public Housing Corporation Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

The Greater Amman Municipality(GAM) and the  Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding to tackle a number of issues regarding Abu Nseir Housing Complex , and to address His Majesty King Abdullah II’s Initiative “ Decent House for Decent Living”.
The Mayor of Amman, Omar Maani, in the signing ceremony, commended the efforts of the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation in serving the local community through the projects of “Decent House for Decent Living”. The Mayor also expressed readiness to extend all that is necessary to help the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation expedite the execution of the Royal Initiative.
On his part, the Director General of Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation , engineer  Salah Al Qdah valued GAM decision to exempt the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation from building licensing fees ( housing units within the first axis of the Royal Initiative for Housing), which shall eventually expedite the execution of the Initiative. 
Both parties applauded, during the signing of the Memorandum by the Mayor, Omar Maani, and the Director General of Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation, engineer Salah Al Qdah at the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation premises, the proposal to utilize the piece of land located between the vocational area and Abu Nseir Club by transforming it into a sports playground for the purpose of serving the local community in this respect.
The Memorandum of Understanding stressed that no registration documents be issued unless the end users settle all their financial commitments; it also stipulates that an agreement has been reached to transform the lands organized as light industries zones into residential areas under special rulings, and that boiler rooms be utilized and transformed into cultural kiosks and ladies handicrafts.
According to the Memorandum, the popular market is to be moved from its present location, which is a commercially organized piece of land owned by Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation to the pieces of land located between Abu Nseir mosque and those where the building of Abu Nseir Directorate is erected on.
A number of the commercially organized pieces of land within the residential area of Abu Nseir Housing Complex are to be transformed in what is known to be residential organization upon special ruling, while the other commercially organized pieces of land shall remain intact in response to the wishes of the residents of the Region.
The Head of the Local Committee of Abu Nseir, engineer Ziad Al Awamleh commended the joint efforts exerted by GAM and Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation which led to reaching this Memorandum which, in turn, will furnish all kinds of solutions to the problems and issues that the residents of the region of Abu Nseir have suffered from, over the years. According to Awamleh, this Memorandum shall have a positive impact on the services extended to the residents of the local community. 
Attending the signing of the  Memorandum were :  the City of Amman Manager, engineer Ammar Gharaybeh, Advisor to the Mayor for the Regions Affairs, GAM Council Member, Nisreen Al Najdawi, the Director of Abu Nseir Region, the Director of Property  and End users Affairs at the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation, and the Director of  Design and Organization.
It is worth noting in this context that the Housing Complex encompasses 5000 housing units, and is located in Abu Nseir Region, the space area of which amounts to 7 km2, and its inhabitants range between 70,000 and 100,000.
