German Volksbank paderborn delegation shows keen interest in rak free trade zone
A delegation of 35 German businessmen from Paderborn recently held discussions concerning investment opportunities and setting up businesses with senior officers of Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ).
The delegation, headed by Dr. Gunter Reimund, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Volksbank Paderborn-Hoxter-Detmold eG and mainly comprised of members of the Paderborn cooperative credit association, was received by Bissoon Surnam, Director of Marketing and Business Generation and several officers of the RAK Free Trade Zone.
Surnam presented the benefits and advantages that RAK FTZ offers businesses. As one of the region’s best emerging free zones, RAK FTZ is regarded as an ideal and cost-effective place for establishing business in the region. RAK FTZ’s guiding principle has always been to adopt simple procedures and customer-friendly environment, complemented by competitive prices, strategic location, top-notch facilities, and state-of-the-art infrastructure as well as convenient investment laws, which creates an ideal environment for new companies to establish at the free zone. RAK FTZ also provides new companies assistance in acquiring skilled work force.
“We welcome the growing interest shown by German investors in RAK FTZ. Currently, we already have 210 German companies registered with us through our German office - 60 of which are new businesses registered in 2008,” said Surnam. “In the past few weeks, we have also hosted visits by a German media delegation and the Minister from North Rhine Westphalia, so we are confident that this visit will bring more positive interest and increase the German presence in RAK FTZ,” adds Surnam.
The detailed presentation was followed by a question and answer session wherein the delegates had the opportunity to get more information regarding particular areas of interest like technology related industry and trading. The delegation also toured RAKFTZ’s Business, Technology and the Industrial Parks.
Dr. Reimund expressed his gratitude to RAK FTZ management for the welcome and hospitality given to him and the delegation. He said; “The aim of our visit was to explore and foster investment opportunities in the UAE. We are happy to see the interest of German businesses in this area and can conclude that this has been a very successful and informative visit. We hope to expand on this relationship and open new avenues of cooperation.”
The delegation’s visit was organised by RAK FTZ’s office in Germany in cooperation with Michael Kriesten of Prime Project UAE, which has an established office at RAK Free Trade Zone.
