Brazilian super model Gisele Bundchen set a new standard for generosity today when she announced she would give $1.5 million to ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. She's one of many stars pitching in for the important cause. Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and George Clooney who have all pledged one million dollars. Madonna has also come forward to offer $250,000.
More money for relief efforts will likely come in what's potentially the biggest fund raising event yet -- the "Hope for Haiti" telethon. George Clooney will host the event this Friday from Los Angles. Joining Clooney from New York will be Haitian musician Wyclef Jean and CNN's Anderson Cooper.
The telethon will be carried commercial-free on selected networks, check your local listings.
Others reported to be giving their time to the telethon include, Bono, Alicia Keys, Sting, Christina Aguilera and Justine Timberlake.
The money raised during the event will go to a number of relief agenices including the Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef's Yele Haiti Foundation.
