Global Banking Corporation (“GBCORP”)
enhances its training programs/initiatives.

Global Banking Corporation B.S.C (c) (GBCORP) organised a training exercise on safety awareness conducted by the Civil Defence Bureau for fire wardens.

The training is a reflection of GBCORP’s aim to achieve international standards of best practice fostering and promoting responsibility at all levels of operation with the aim of further advancing the staff awareness on the significance of safety.

Relevant topics like building evacuation and assembly point, vital actions and procedures to be taken in the event of emergencies and proper use of fire extinguishers were discussed.

Director of Protection & Safety Directorate Lt. Col. Mohammed Showaiter of the General Directorate of Civil Defence said “safety is a major concern of everybody and I am very pleased that GBCORP has taken the initiative to organize this training exercise for their staff and the building tenants. We all have a role to play and if we have the proper training on safety, we will be able to properly respond to any emergency situation.”

Also highlighting on the importance of the exercise, A. Monaim Al Bastaki, GBCORP’s Chief Operating Officer said “the training further advanced the knowledge and hands-on experience of attendees on safety measures enabling them to resolutely act with urgency on emergency situations. GBCORP spearheaded this exercise to reaffirm the bank’s commitment to a safe working environment.”
