Gulf states will set up a united front in their fight against cancer by forming a “Gulf Union of Cancer Societies,” reported the Bahrain Tribune newspaper.
The union will be officially announced at the conclusion of the ‘Second Conference of the Bahrain Cancer Society,’ which opens in Manama Thursday.
General Manager of Saudi Arabia’s Al Eman Cancer Society, Fahad H Soulimani, said this move will greatly increase the awareness about the dreaded disease in the region.
“When all the societies of the Gulf region will come together and form a united front, this is sure to contribute in a big way in our fight,” he told the Tribune.
Soulimani said the society will initially be based in Saudi Arabia – Albawaba.com
