Two Iraqi interior ministry officers were killed Monday when gunmen opened fire on a vehicle transporting officials in the eastern Baladiyat district of Baghdad, Reuters reported.
Police and medics said a third officer was wounded. There was no immediate claim for the attack.
Sectarian conflict in the Shiite-led country has grown worse since the insurgency of Daesh (ISIS) militants, according to Reuters.
Iraqi forces continue to fight the extremists currently located in the Anbar province and the town of Baiji near Iraq's largest oil refinery.
