Two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen won the Austrian Grand Prix Sunday, while Michael Schumacher didn't score a point for the second straight race.

Hakkinen won by 12 seconds over his McLaren-Mercedes teammate David Coulthard, while Schumacher was pushed out of the race on the first turn.

"It's not over yet," said the Finnish Hakkinen.

About the only cloud over Hakkinen's victory was the electronic box on his car. International Automobile Federation (FIA) confiscated it after the race, saying one of the seals, used to verify there has been no tampering, was broken.

It was taken to London for checking although Hakkinen still had the victory.

The FIA, in a statement, said late Monday, a report would be submitted to the stewards of the meeting who would also consider the implications of the absence of the seal.

It hoped a further announcement would be made within 48 hours.

It is now Schumacher and not Hakkinen who is plagued by car problems.

At the French Grand Prix two weeks ago, Schumacher dropped out with engine trouble. His car broke a suspension rod in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Hakkinen is eager to show he has turned the season around but is taking it one race at a time.

"If you do well in the individual races, the reward for that is having more points than the others and a world championship," Hakkinen said. "I just want to look towards the next Grand Prix. I think we will be strong there."

Canadian Jacques Villeneuve in the other BAR-Honda was fourth, more than a lap behind the top three.

Britain's Jenson Button in a Williams-BMW was fifth. It was the third time in the points for the 20-year-old Button, who is still unsure of his future. Juan Pablo Montoya, who the CART championship as a rookie last year and the Indianapolis 500 this year, is talked about replacing Button next year – (AFP)
