ALBAWABA - Dr. Basem Naim, a well-known member of Hamas' political leadership, has presented the movement's vision for Gaza.

In addition to criticizing the Palestinian Authority's present incapacity to rule the West Bank and implying that it is incapable of playing a comparable role in Gaza after the conflict, Naim underlined Palestinian rejection to any non-Palestinian military deployment in Gaza.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Net during a conference on racial discrimination that South Africa was hosting, Naim praised the occasion and used South Africa's past experiences battling apartheid to describe it as an important step in Hamas' campaign.

Regarding Hamas' position on the terms of the ceasefire, Naim stressed that the main goal of the ceasefire is to end hostilities, and Palestinian demands for terms of the ceasefire may go beyond what is offered in talks.

at addition, Naim addressed reports that Hamas was planning to relocate its headquarters from Qatar, thanking Doha for its continued support of the Palestinian cause at international fora.

Naim vehemently denounced Israel's authority over the Rafah crossing, calling it a breach of international accord and highlighting its importance as a segment of the Egyptian-Palestinian border.
