The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denounced on Thursday the assassination of one of the leaders of its military wing, Izziddin Al Qassam Battalions.

“An Israeli helicopter gunship missile targeted the victim’s car”, according to a press statement by Hamas, of which Albawaba.com received a copy.

The statement announced that “Israel continued with its ugly atrocities against our people by targeting and liquidating this morning Ibrahim Abdul Karim Bani Oudeh from Tammoun, Nablus by a rocket fired by an Israeli Helicopter which resulted in his immediate death”.

The martyr was amongst seven other prisoners released Wednesday from Juneid prison.

The crime of assassinating Martyr Ibrahim Abdul Karim Bani Audeh in cold blood by the occupation forces was committed in the same manner four other Palestinian martyrs were assassinated in Gaza Wednesday, said the movement. This is a series of daily crimes committed by the occupation forces against our defenseless people, who will not be deterred by the aggressions and will continue with Al Aqsa Intifada and resistance until our land is liberated and the occupation forces are forced out,” added the statement.

“We in Hamas stress that the blood of our heroic martyr and other Aqsa martyrs will burn the occupiers,” the Islamist movement vowed.

Izzidin Al Qassam claimed resposibility for the car bomb attack on Thurseday in the Israeli coastal city of Hadera, to the north of Tel Aviv, which claimed the lives of at least two Israelis and injured 55.

According to a poll last week by Beir Zeit University, Hamas is the second popular Palestinian movement after PLO’s mainstream party, Fateh, with the former obtaining 21 percent of votes in its favor, while Fateh leads with 30 percent.
