ALBAWABA - In an exclusive Al Jazeera Net interview, top Hamas commander Osama Hamdan disclosed grave facts regarding Israeli intentions to forcefully relocate two million Palestinians from the West Bank to Jordan.
He cautioned that such a move threatens Palestinians and the region. Hamdan highlighted a new West Bank opposition front, undermining Israel's goals.
Hamdan denied Israeli reports that Hamas' Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades leader Mohammed al-Deif was assassinated. He affirmed that al-Deif is alive and leading rebel activities. Following Israeli military sources' claims that al-Deif was killed in recent clashes.
Hamdan denied that Hamas and the US had held direct conversations without Israeli participation. "We’ve heard media reports suggesting the possibility of an American-Hamas deal, but there has been no direct contact from the Americans, nor have they reached out through intermediaries," Hamdan said, downplaying it.
Hamdan stated why Yahya al-Sinwar was appointed political bureau chairman by Hamas. He denied that al-Sinwar's nomination was a response to the Tehran killing of Ismail Haniyeh.
Hamdan addressed Israeli military aggression in the West Bank. He said Israel's actions were motivated by its desire to eliminate Palestinian resistance groups. Israel now plans the forcible displacement of two million Palestinians to Jordan. He said this strategy was "dangerous" for the area because it may create a worldwide precedent for forced relocation.
He said that the Palestinian resistance's persistence and capabilities during previous conflicts, particularly the "Al-Aqsa Flood" fight, surprised Israel. Hamdan stressed that the opposition has made tactical gains that undermine Israeli goals.
Hamdan's admissions highlight the Israeli-Palestinian conflict's complexity, as new West Bank resistance fronts develop amid rising tensions and changing military plans.
