Hamra Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel developer and operator in the region, has announced that Hamra Convention Center has been positively embraced by the market and that the first seven months of operations since the Center’s official opening on 07 May 2009 have seen an overwhelming number of bookings and events.
Christian Quemener, Cluster General Manager, Hamra Hotels & Resorts, stated: “We are delighted to see that our concept has proven to be successful. Hamra Convention Center is a remarkable venue, exquisitely designed in the Arabic heritage style featuring the traditional wind towers, a warm sand-stone coloured ambience and a luxurious interior décor with majestic leather armchairs, staggering chandeliers, fine seating arrangements and state-of-the-art technical equipment. With its vast and spacious arrangement, Hamra Convention Center creates a welcoming atmosphere that oozes hospitality in every corner. With the adjacent Al Hamra Fort Hotel, the Khatt Springs Hotel & Spa, the Al Hamra Residences and Al Hamra Village with an 18-hole golf course and a marina as well as with the upcoming Acacia Hotel and The Palace Hotel both corporate and individual customers of the Hamra Convention Center are spoilt for choice in terms of room, dining and entertainment options. The opportunities of using synergies and combining packages within our group and properties are limitless, which is an added value to our concept, as no desires and wishes remain unattended.”
Jeremy Payne, Director of Sales & Marketing, Hamra Hotels & Resorts, added: “Since May we have been honoured to host a major legal conference for RAK Government, medical conferences for the RAK-based leading pharmaceutical industry of the region, a fashion show with full audio and visual support, launching events of new companies established in RAK and wedding parties, just to name a few. The pipeline for 2010 already holds an exhibition confirmed for January / February and two car launches. We have been entrusted with an amazing share of business from the Ras Al Khaimah community, which we are very grateful for, and we consider ourselves an integral part of this beautiful Emirate and its sustainable development. In addition to our home market, we have also hosted guests and customers from the other Emirates and from abroad and are looking to further develop this market. For example, with Dubai being only a 50 minutes’ drive away, the Hamra Convention Center is a perfect offsite escape for strategy and planning meetings of Dubai based enterprises. We are ready for any M.I.C.E. requirement and hope the coming seven months to be at least as successful as our first.”
