During an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, Saudi Arabia reiterated its stance against any acts that undermine state sovereignty or involve interference in a nation's internal matters.

ALBAWABA- The Saudi Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, labeling it a "flagrant violation" of Iran's sovereignty. 

In a statement released on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, Saudi Arabia criticized the attack as an infringement on state sovereignty and interference in internal affairs.

Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid al-Khereiji described Haniyeh's assassination as a breach of regional peace and security. 

During an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, Saudi Arabia reiterated its stance against any acts that undermine state sovereignty or involve interference in a nation's internal matters.

Hamas announced on July 31, 2024, that Ismail Haniyeh, the head of its political bureau, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his residence in Tehran. 

The movement mourned Haniyeh as a "martyr" who was targeted in a "treacherous Zionist raid" while he was in Tehran for the inauguration of Iran's new president.
