HCT Media Students promote intercultural dialogue at Americas Congress II in Mexico City

Media students from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) left a positive and lasting impression at the Americas Congress II in Mexico City (8-11 Oct 2008) http://www.virtualcom.org/projects/uniting_eng/. The presentations of media students at the conference demonstrated the creative talents and professionalism of young media students from the United Arab Emirates. Higher Colleges of Technology students from Applied Media Studies Higher Diploma and Bachelors’ programs presented short films, video documentaries, animation, and graphic design projects related to the theme of the conference, “Exploring Media Convergence, Public Communication, and Intercultural Communication”.  Their lively presentations generated considerable interest from attendees and provoked animated dialogue between the students and an international audience.

The students described their participation at the event as a fantastic, once-in-a -lifetime experience, which gave them the opportunity to exhibit their work to such a global audience and network consisting of esteemed  educators and professionals from different parts of the world.   The feedback from the audience was very positive and many institutions expressed a keen interest in developing a relationship with the HCT.
