Head of the Kuwaiti national committee for missing and POWs affairs (NCMPA) Sheikh Salem Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah met on Monday with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Prime Minister Mohammad Miro in Syria.

Official Syrian media reports said that two separate meetings reviewed ways of consolidating Arab solidarity and means of fostering bilateral relations in all areas, according to Kuwait News Agency.

The meetings were attended by the delegation accompanying Sheikh Salem and the Kuwaiti ambassador to Damascus Sulaiman al-Murjan.

Sheikh Salem's official meetings in Damascus were concluded after meeting the top Syrian officials.

His visit aimed at following up on the efforts exerted to put an end to the issue of the Kuwaiti POWs and on what had been agreed upon in the recent Beirut Arab summit.

Sheikh Salem met earlier Monday with Syrian parliament speaker Abdelqader Qadourah.

On Tuesday, he will head for Beirut, the last part of his trip. (Albawaba.com)
