Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), the premier provider of health care services in the State of Qatar, is the platinum sponsor of the Eighth Annual Forum of the Arab Hospitals Federation (Medhealth CAIRO2010), held March 10 – 11, 2010 in Cairo, under the patronage of HE Mr. Amro Moussa, Secretary General of the Arab League.
HMC participates as a main sponsor in this pan-Arab forum for health care, which will be held in conjunction with the Arab Health Ministers Council, as a leading player in the Arab health sector. A specialized exhibition will be held alongside the forum, with the participation of a number of Arab medical organizations and other Arab and International institutions involved in providing health care services medical equipment.
HMC’s senior attendees include Mr. Mohamed Al Noimi, Executive Director of Marketing & Public Relations, Dr. Abdulla Al Ansari, Consultant and Chairman of Surgery Department at HMC and Dr. Badria Sulaiman Al Ali, Executive Director of Quality Department, in addition to a number of other senior HMC staff.
Mr. Al Noimi commented on HMC’s support of the forum: “we are aiming to introduce HMC’s services to the Arab World and exchange knowledge and expertise in the health care field to help raise overall healthcare standards in Qatar and the region – I am therefore delighted for HMC to demonstrate its commitment to the regional healthcare sector by sponsoring this forum”.
HMC participation in Medhealth CAIRO2010 cements its position as a leading health care provider and demonstrates the great strides made by the corporation during the few past years in providing high quality patient care. HMC is also looking for the exchange of knowledge and expertise with other Arab and international organizations in the industry.
Mr. Al-Noimi stated that HMC elected to be the platinum sponsor for the second consecutive year in appreciation of the Arab Hospitals Federation for the Corporation which actually established the healthcare criteria in the Middle-East, adding: “We are the first public therapeutic institution in the region to attain an international accreditation for all our hospitals by the Joint Commission International (JCI). We also achieved re-accreditation of all our hospitals last year as well as accreditation of our home care services, the first of its kind in the region”.
HMC provides healthcare for about 95% of the residents of Qatar and is engaged in educational and training agreements with internationally renowned healthcare institutions such as Weill Cornell Medical College-WCMC, Heidelberg University Clinics of Germany which provides clinical support for Al-Amal Hospital (specialized in oncology and cancer treatment). Moreover, Pittsburg University Medical Center of US provides the necessary technical service support for the Accident & Emergency Department.
The eighth annual forum of the Arab Hospitals- Cairo 2010 is to be held with the support of the Arab Health Ministers, the Arab League, World Health Organization (WHO), the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Council, the Arab Quality Association for Healthcare Services and Syndicates of medical professions in the Arab Countries.
The forum this year operates under the theme: “Arab Hospitals in 2015 – A perspective for the Future” and discusses five major topics: Health Economics versus future recession, the Smart Hospital is no longer a dream, available accreditation; What will be offered next?, Hospital Imperatives for the future: Quality & Patient Safety and hospital staffing to face future challenges.
The administrative and scientific activities run simultaneously with the accompanying exhibition which showcases the latest innovations and technologies in the various aspects of medicine. This exhibition attracts a significant number of regional and international companies, specialized in the various types of medical products, as well as a wide range of healthcare professionals and healthcare equipment producers, suppliers and distributors.
