ALBAWABA- A drone laden with explosives struck Israel’s southern resort city of Eilat on Wednesday, injuring at least 19 people and sparking panic in the area.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that 19 people were injured in the Houthi drone strike on Eilat, including two in serious condition and two with moderate injuries.
Footage circulating online shows the moment of impact near the “Club Hotel,” with plumes of smoke rising from the site.
Israeli emergency services rushed to the scene after sirens warned of an incoming drone.
Hebrew media reported that the attack was carried out by Yemen’s Houthi movement, marking the second strike on Eilat in just over a week. On September 18, a similar drone targeted a hotel in the city.
Military analysts suggested that the Houthis used a modern “Jaffa”/Samad-X loitering munition in the latest strike.
In response, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a sharp warning, threatening to “send the Houthi leader to hell” and vowing that Israel’s flag would one day fly over Sana’a, a remark dismissed in Yemen as empty rhetoric.
