ALBAWABA - In the aftermath of the recent military assaults led by the United States and the United Kingdom to safeguard maritime trade in Yemen, Houthi rebels declare their determination to continue targeting Israeli vessels.

Abdulmelik Al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi faction backed by Iran, issues a stern warning, asserting that any attempt to interfere with or assault their people will result in dire consequences. Al-Houthi emphasizes the unwavering strength of their resolve, affirming the ability of their people to endure prolonged conflicts.

Following the US and UK strikes that targeted Houthi positions in Yemen through both land and sea operations, reports confirm explosions in the capital city of Sana, as well as in Hodeidah and Taiz. The Houthis make it clear that they intend to persist in their targeting of Israeli ships.

In a written statement posted on social media, Houthi spokesperson Mohammed Abdusselam criticizes what he describes as a "treacherous aggression" orchestrated by the US and UK. Abdusselam alleges that Yemen was subjected to a calculated attack aimed at protecting Israel and halting support operations for Gaza. He assures that this assault will only serve to strengthen Yemen's resilience and power.

Abdusselam reassures the international community that, apart from targeting Israeli ships, the Houthis pose no threat to global navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

He emphasizes that the attacks by the US and UK had no justifiable reasons, asserting, "There was no threat to international navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. Apart from Israeli ships and those heading to occupied Palestinian ports, no other targets were aimed at, and we will continue targeting them."

Hussein al-Izzi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Houthi-led government, takes to social media to declare, "Our country faced a major attack by US and British ships, submarines, and warplanes. Undoubtedly, the US and the UK will have to prepare to pay a heavy price for this blatant aggression."

Houthi leader Abdulmelik al-Houthi echoes this sentiment, issuing a stark warning to anyone considering military action against Yemen. He emphasizes that no US attack will go unanswered.

The recent retaliatory strikes by the US and UK involved air raids and Tomahawk missile attacks, targeting at least 12 Houthi locations. Explosions were reported in Yemen's capital, Sana, as well as Hodeidah and Taiz cities. In his statement, US President Biden confirmed the joint military action with the UK and support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
