ALBAWABA- In a significant display of military capability, the Houthis announced the downing of an American MQ-9 drone in Al-Baydha governorate, central Yemen. This marks the second such incident this week and the fifth since October 7.

The Houthis' military spokesperson confirmed the event, noting that the advanced U.S. drone, valued at $30 million, was shot down during a surveillance mission over Yemeni territory.

Just last Wednesday, a similar MQ-9 drone was downed in the M'arib governorate, an area under the control of Yemen's internationally recognized government.

A video circulated by the Houthis shows the incident, which reportedly took place last night. While the U.S. has not yet commented on this latest incident, it did acknowledge the downing of the drone over M'arib last week.

The repeated success of the Houthis in targeting and downing these advanced drones underscores their growing military prowess and presents a significant challenge to U.S. operations in the region.
