HSBC SUPPORTS ABU DHABI WORLD LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

HSBC is delighted to announce its support and participation of the Abu Dhabi World Leadership Summit to be held in Emirates Palace Hotel on Tuesday 15 November 2005.

HSBC is a preferred diamond sponsor of the event and has the honour of introducing The Honourable William Jefferson Clinton, former President of the United States on the day.

Commenting on their participation of the Summit, David Hodgkinson, Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, said, “HSBC first opened its doors for business in Abu Dhabi 47 years ago and since that time has been an adviser to the Government, supporting their vision for the Emirate’s development.”  Mr Hodgkinson continued, “HSBC is recognised as a pioneer and a leader in the Middle East, mirroring the way in which the UAE has in so many ways taken on the role of business hub and leader for this dynamic region. We are therefore delighted to be involved with this prestigious conference”.

The Summit is being held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. For the first time ever a gathering of the world’s most influential minds and global ambassadors will come to Abu Dhabi to speak on excellence in leadership and international business development.  His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, Benazir Bhutto, Sir Richard Branson, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Alabbar and Senator John Edwards will take to the  platform to share their thoughts and experiences with senior government officials, senior company figures, international, regional and local business leaders as well as entrepreneurs.

The Summit will help to position Abu Dhabi on the international stage and set the scene for the forthcoming GCC Summit which will be held in December.
