The United Nations nuclear watchdog delayed a crucial meeting in Vienna, Austria on Thursday that was to consider imposing an October 31 deadline for Iran to prove it is not running a secret atomic weapons program, a spokesman said.

The surprise suspension of the morning session of the 35-nation board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) came as the US and 14 allies were lobbying other member states to back them in a resolution on Iran's nuclear program.

IAEA spokesman Mark Gwozdecky said no time was yet set to resume the meeting. (Albawaba.com)
