In line with its mission to ensure the security of IT systems, Oger Systems has signed up as a Platinum Partner for IDC’s IT Security Roadshow. As one of the region's leading system integration companies and providers of IT infrastructure, business solutions, and portals, Oger recognizes that IT needs are developing rapidly and that identifying the right provider can be a formidable task.

Which is why it is joining IDC's First IT Security Roadshow in the Middle East. Stopping in five major cities in the Gulf to help spread the news about the latest technology and techniques for preventing cyber crime, the roadshow started in April and runs through May. It features keynote addresses from some of IT security's best-known and most respected experts, IDC analysts, and presentations from its main regional partners.

"IT security is much more than a perennial issue," says Jyoti Lalchandani, VP & Regional MD, IDC MEA. "It is one of the key limiting and risk factors for business today. Networks are going mobile, VoIP is being used to cut telephony costs, and workers are increasingly accessing information from phones, PDAs, notebooks, and desktops. The number and size of security holes is growing and staying on top of the latest methods for protecting information assets and systems must be a top priority."

Over the next few years, IDC expects spending on security software to jump by an annual average of 20% and spending on appliances (firewall VPN, IDs) to grow at by an average of 21% annually in MEA. "Spending won't be nor should be limited to technical solutions," says Lalchandani. "Policy development, internal training, legal compliance, and long-term scalability must also be considered when implementing comprehensive solutions. The trick is knowing where to begin, where to adjust, and where to expand."

Oger Systems agrees. "We want to be apart of IDC's roadhsow because it has a strong tradition in other regions of helping organizations tackle larger security issues and recognizing that technical solutions are only effective when employed with full understanding of the larger security context," says Mr. Fadi Almasri, Chief Executive Officer of Oger Systems Company. "We do the same thing at Oger. We approach client service by first understanding their technology requirements, which allows us to deliver the most appropriate solution. We attempt to achieve that through transparency, truth in dealing and placing client benefit above all other considerations. We collaborate closely with clients in developing solutions that both meet their technical needs and encourage further business development."
To shed light on security issues, Oger Systems' keynote speaker George Shomali, Senior Security Consultant and Pre-Sales Manager, will address one of the sessions at the Riyadh IT security Roadshow. Mr. Shomali is one of the senior executives who led Wide Space Systems (WSS) to success until it was acquired by Saudi Oger in July 2005, forming Oger Systems Ltd. Mr. Shomali is currently managing the pre-sales department with a team of technology consultants in various areas of IT Infrastructure solution including, but not limited to, security. He possesses extensive knowledge in enterprise infrastructure technologies, storage and storage management technologies, and security and security management technologies.
