Established in the year 2000, the International Indian Film Academy was initiated with the aim of celebrating Indian cinema across the world. Every year, IIFA celebrates the best of Indian Cinema with symbolic milieu showcasing the cinema, business and cultural facets of India and tries to synergize these elements with that of the host country.
Over the last decade, IIFA has journeyed across three continents and various beau locales including, London, Sun City, Malaysia, Johannesburg, Singapore, Amsterdam, Dubai, Yorkshire, Bangkok and Macau. This year IIFA will commence its second decade in the emerald island, ‘Sri Lanka’. Recognizing the magnitude of the recent conflict in Sri Lanka, the IIFA Charity Initiative, in conjunction with the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Habitat for Humanity and UNICEF, will aim to positively impact those afflicted in the country.
On behalf of the IIFA Management and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Board (SLTPB), IIFA would like to extend an invitation to your reputed media house to be a part of the Videocon IIFA Weekend 2010 scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from June 3rd to 5th. Kindly identify a suitable representative from your esteemed media house.
The journalist will be given concessionary, media rates (please find the same in the accreditation form) for accommodation in Colombo during the course of the Videocon IIFA Weekend (three nights). Flights will be have to be taken care of by the media house/ journalist, themselves. The identified person will have the opportunity to interact with the faces of India extending across film stars celebrities, sports personalities, government leaders and trade and industry representatives – in essence – the ‘Best of India’ for all “Open to Media” events through the Videocon IIFA Weekend.
The Videocon IIFA Weekend will include the IIFA Opening Press Conferences, IIFA - Film Media Briefings, IIFA Fashion Extravaganza, FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum, IIFA Foundation Celebrity Cricket Match and the ultimate in glitz - the Micromax IIFA Awards Presentation Ceremony. A detailed itinerary of the Videocon IIFA Weekend will be forwarded to the journalist in the last week of May 2010. Media accreditation passes can be collected at the Media Centre in the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. Please have the journalist bring along 4 passport size pictures for the accreditation.
Courtesy SLTPB, a FAM trip will be organized for media personnel. If you are interested in being a part of it, kindly remember to fill in the same in the accreditation request forms as required. The deadline for returning the filled forms is 25th May 2010, mandatorily.
