Imdaad, the leading integrated facilities management solutions provider in the UAE, launched the second season of its ambitious environment protection initiative Beati. The forward looking Green Campaign will cover more number of schools and areas in the country through programmes planned for 2010.

Beati, which aims to spread environment awareness at grass root level through the participation of school children, marked remarkable success in 2009 when it was first launched with support from Dubai Municipality, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and Union Paper Mills. Imdaad has expanded its scope in the second season, in order to make it a major movement to achieve higher levels of sustainability.

The programme, which included 13 Dubai schools in 2009, has been expanded to cover 30 schools in 2010, including those in Abu Dhabi and Shahama. As in the first year, Imdaad has designed a series of activities, including quiz and drawing contests, practical sessions, expert lectures and film shows, encouraging the active participation of school children.

Jamal Lootah, Chief Executive Officer, Imdaad, said: “Beati’s second season comes riding on the huge support we got in its first year from students, school authorities, parents and the society in general. Imdaad is confident that our prestigious initiative will achieve even bigger success in 2010. We are committed to make it the most effective environment campaign at grass root level and look forward to support from all.”

Imdaad launched Beati as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in April 2009. Under the slogan “My environment, B’cos I want my world,” the campaign put prime focus on “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle,” three activities that require concerted efforts from all sectors of the society make positive impact on environment.

“Khaddour,” a fun-loving “green leaf” character, was created to encourage children’s involvement, particularly in recycling. The Green themed mascot became hugely popular in the schools, inspiring children through a drawing competition where hidden symbols highlighted objects to be recycled on a particular day. Brochures and booklets were distributed among children, graphically describing various environmental aspects that deserve serious attention.

Imdaad marked the first anniversary of Beati’s success in December 2009 at Ibn Batuta Mall, where winners of the contests were presented with mementoes and certificates at a colourful ceremony.

Taking clue from its success, the FM solutions leader designed the activities for 2010, making it a perfect mixture of fun and learning.

Beati is among the many projects Imdaad plans to launch in line with its Green approach to core activities in the Facilities Management sector. The company expanded its service footprint across the UAE with added emphasis on environment-friendly methods in order to support the country’s sustainability drive.

Imdaad’s client base currently includes major corporate and service establishments such as Nakheel, Jafza, DP World – UAE Region, Dubai Properties, Dubai Customs, Limitless, Tanmiyat and Tamweel. Among major projects on its portfolio are Palm Jumeirah, World Trade Centre, The Gardens, Atlantis, Jumeirah Golf Estate, International City, Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone and Wasl, the asset management group of Dubai real Estate Corporation (DREC), along with shopping malls like Ibn Batuta Mall, Dragon Mall, and many more.
