Imdaad takes green initiative to schools with ‘Beati’

Imdaad, the leading integrated facilities management company, announced an ambitious environment protection initiative, “Beati,” which will have the active participation of school children. The programme will coincide with the UAE Environment Day on Feb.4.

Beati is in line with Imdaad’s policy to take its expertise and leading position in areas of environment and recycling operations to grass root level in order to make a bigger positive impact on the society. Deeply committed to corporate social responsibility programmes, Imdaad is targeting school children so that the message spreads rapidly to families and the community. Imdaad will announce its strategic partners for the initiative in the coming weeks.

Jamal Lootah, CEO of Imdaad said Beati is one of the major initiatives the company has planned for 2009 as part of its expanding green initiatives. “Environment protection activities such as recycling, play a vital role in sustainable development. Imdaad has been leading by example in this area. We realise that educating school children and making them active partners in the campaign is the right thing to do. It will make them aware of their role and responsibility in saving the environment. The activities will also add great value to their personality development.”

Beati will initially target schools in Dubai and later cover the other Emirates as well.  As part of the programme, Imdaad will conduct practical educational activities, quiz competitions and hold film shows in schools on subjects related to environment, with particular stress on the importance of recycling. A mega contest is also planned that will be disclosed on the World Environment Day on June 6th.

The emphasis will be on extra-curricular activities, which makes the initiative a mix of education and entertainment.
