Vibrant, innovative and inspirational sum up the dazzling display of interior designs at INDEX 2008, the biggest event of its kind in the Middle East and Asia, which closed yesterday (Sunday 7 December 2008) after a five day run.

The world's major suppliers of furniture, fixtures and fittings are took part in INDEX at the Dubai International Exhibition and Convention Centre which was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

Nearly 1800 companies from 60 countries exhibited at this year’s event featuring thousands of international brands, exclusive launches and exciting new ideas for fitting out offices, hotels, residential and public projects.

“For international and regional exhibitors, INDEX is fundamental to boosting and accelerating annual sales in the Middle East,” he added. “They can achieve a year’s worth of marketing, brand-building, networking and deal-making in just five days at INDEX.

“More of the Middle East’s high spending professionals, architects, interior designers and specifiers attended Index than any other event because it is the most comprehensive sourcing opportunity for furnishings and contract interior design in the region,” said Bernard Walsh, Managing Director of dmg world media Dubai, the show organisers.

“INDEX encompasses everything from flooring and wall coverings, through to lighting and art, accessories and window products, textiles, ceramics, kitchen and bathroom furniture and interior design services. We now look forward to an exciting 2009 event.”
