ALBAWABA - At least 40 construction workers are stuck inside a tunnel they were building after it collapsed in northern India on Sunday, AFP reported citing Durgesh Rathodi, a disaster response official in the Himalayan state.
"About 40 to 41 workers are trapped inside. Oxygen is being supplied through the debris, but more rubble is coming down as rescuers try to remove the obstruction," Rathodi said.
Local Indian media reported that a portion of the under-construction tunnel from Silkyara to Dandalgaon in Uttarkashi collapsed, on Sunday.
Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene intending to save all construction workers trapped under the rubble.
