ALBAWABA- The Yemeni Coast Guard has rescued eight sailors and reported one missing after an Indian ship, SAFINA AL ZILANI, sank off the coast of Socotra.

The ship, carrying 600 tons of cement, sank 30 nautical miles from Socotra while en route from Salalah, Oman. The vessel had nine Indian sailors on board when the incident occurred.

"Eight crew members have been rescued, while one sailor is still missing," the Coast Guard reported. "The rescued sailors were taken to the hospital for necessary medical care, and their condition is reported to be stable."

Local authorities supported the rescue operation, the command of task forces in Socotra, and international coalition ships and aircraft, which helped locate the incident site.

Efforts to find the missing sailor are ongoing as authorities continue their search and rescue operations.
