Cognos (Nasdaq: COGN; TSX: CSN), the world leader the world leader in business intelligence and performance management solutions, today announced six new appointments to the advisory board of the Cognos Innovation Center for Performance Management.
The announcement came from the Cognos Customer Forum in Orlando, Florida, to which UAE-based Cognos customers were invited.
The Cognos Innovation Center was established in June 2004 to advance the understanding of proven performance management best-practices and enabling technologies. Staffed globally by experts in planning, business intelligence, management processes, and technology, the Innovation Center partners with more than 2000 Cognos customers, academics, partners, industry leaders, and others who want to accelerate adoption, reduce risk, and maximize the impact of technology-enabled performance management practices and business intelligence competencies.
The following industry leaders join an esteemed group of existing advisors to form a team of visionaries that will guide Cognos and extend the resources available for customers to advance state-of-the-art Performance Management implementations:
• Scott W. Sognefest: Principal, Deloitte Consulting, LLP. Scott Sognefest is a principal with Deloitte Consulting’s Information Dynamics practice and national leader of the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing service offering. He has extensive experience delivering complex global solutions focused on all aspects of business intelligence, data warehousing, performance measurement, master data management and business case development for enterprise information management programs.
• Frank E. Borgsmiller, Principal, Deloitte Consulting, LLP: Frank Borgsmiller serves as the National Operations Leader for Deloitte’s Financial Management Services Practice and as the Regional Practice Leader for Mid America. His extensive experience serving clients includes functional Finance areas such as: Finance strategy and visioning, business process improvement for core processes such as planning, budgeting and forecasting, and enterprise performance management. In addition, Frank has helped develop and lead the firm’s national training programs on a variety of financial topics.
• Roland Mosimann, CEO and Co-founder of Business Intelligence International: Roland is an industry veteran who has helped drive leadership initiatives around BI and performance management since 1995. In 2004 he drove the launch of the Aline™ platform for on-demand Governance, Risk and Compliance. He co-authored The Multidimensional Manager - 24 Ways to Impact Your Bottom Line in 90 Days and The Multidimensional Organization: How to Deliver the 24 Ways. Demand led to the printing of more than 400,000 copies and these books remain in use by organizations worldwide today. He recently co-authored The Performance Manager: Proven Strategies for Turning Information into Higher Business Performance, which is available on Amazon.com.
• Patrick Mosimann, Founding and Joint Managing Director of PMSI Consulting: Patrick is a seasoned performance management practitioner with extensive experience in developing business-led solutions that support decision makers. He has led several unique client engagements across consumer goods, manufacturing, retail and services industry sectors. He recently co-authored The Performance Manager: Proven Strategies for Turning Information into Higher Business Performance, which is available on Amazon.com.
• Brett Knowles, Founding Partner and President, Performance Measurement and Management: A thought leader in the performance measurement space for more than 20 years, Brett co-developed the first balanced scorecard software package, has helped over 1,000 organizations on their scorecard journeys and has developed over 2,000 scorecards. His leadership has helped three organizations that were later honored by being named by Drs. Kaplan and Norton to the Balanced Scorecard Hall of Fame.
• Lawrence Maisel, Co-founding Partner of DecisionVu: A seasoned business executive who has successfully demonstrated abilities to provide leadership in Strategy and Financial Management, and Information Technology. He has numerous experiences in Financial Services, Insurance, Communications and Media, Pharmaceuticals, and Consumer Products industries where he has developed business strategies, managed and improved business performance, implemented business systems, and designed solutions to increase operating performance and shareholder value. Larry co-created with Drs. Kaplan and Norton, the Balanced Scorecard, co-authored with Drs. Kaplan and Cooper “Implementing Activity-Based Cost Management”. He is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University's Graduate Business School where he teaches Strategy Management.
