The Dubai Autodrome preparations for the MotorCity GT 500 race have been underway for some several weeks now, and its world-class racetrack is set to host some of the fastest and best-known drivers and sports cars in the world.
This event which is held under the Patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Executive Council, will be the third time that the Dubai Autodrome will host and is due to take place on the 17th and 18th of November 2006.
Safety logistics to cover the 5.39 FIA certified track include 20 senior officials, 150 trained track marshals, ten trackside fire tenders, two large Civil Defense Fire units in the paddock, 3 vehicle recovery trucks and a purpose built track sweeper.
On the Medical side, the state-of-the-art Medical Center houses over 12 specialized doctors and two Senior Paramedics. In addition there is an event dedicated Medevac Helicopter, nine ambulances with their paramedic crew, three fast medical response vehicles and five rescue and extrication vehicles.
General security and traffic is handled by the Dubai Police working in conjunction with specialist security staff hired by the Autodrome.

Around 30 thunderous cars will be due to line up at the Dubai Autodrome, to kick off for the hottest and long awaited race, MotorCity GT 500!
The GT cars competing on the Dubai Autodrome track are based originally on road cars, adapted for racing on circuits, and are split into two classes competing for two separate titles. Ranging between 400 and 650 bhp, the GT1 are the more powerful of the two categories where with a bit less power the GT2 are more closely similar to their road going counter parts.
