InterContinental Lusaka Welcomes New Leader to the Team

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel operator, announced today that Clive Smith has been appointed as General Manager of the InterContinental Lusaka.

The hospitality professional, with more than 15 years of proven senior international management at premier properties, is pleased to join the team at the long-standing InterContinental Lusaka, which is a true landmark of the Zambian capital and is regarded for its high levels of service and facilities that address both business and leisure travelers.

Described by colleagues as an excellent leader, motivator and communicator with high skills in standards, finance and a track record of achieving results, Smith moves to the position from his previous role as Resident Manager of the InterContinental Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Smith originally joined the InterContinental Hotels Group fold in 2000, when he was the Resident Manager of the Holiday Inn Mayfair in London, UK.

“Both of the previous positions I have held with InterContinental Hotels Group has provided me with wonderful experience and background to take on this exciting and challenging new role in Lusaka. It is wonderful to be stationed at the InterContinental Lusaka, which is a true landmark in the Zambian capital of Lusaka,” said Smith.
