Iran’s President visits Mazandaran Province

Iranian President Seyed Mohammad Khatami arrived in Sari Tuesday for a three-day visit of the northern province of Mazandaran.  

 

The government attaches high importance to solving the province’s problems, President Seyed Mohammad Khatami said on his arrival at the Dasht-e Naz airport in Sari.  

 

In addition, Khatami said that during his trip he would meet with provincial officials as well as the people of the province, adding that he would examine means to remove the region's problems during these meetings.  

 

The president was welcomed by the provincial Governor General Holam-Reza Ansari, jurisprudence representative Nourollah Tabarsi, Parliament members and a large number of provincial ranking officials and people.  

 

Following his arrival, he went to the Sari cemetery and paid tribute to Iranian soldiers martyred during the 8-year Iraqi imposed war, according to IRNA.  

 

Mohammahd Khatami is scheduled to visit Sari, Behshahr, Qaemshahr, Babol, Amol, Babolsar, Nour, Noshahr and Tonekabon in the course of his trip.  

 

Around 179 industrial, telecommunications and water-supply projects are due to be inaugurated during the visit. (Albawaba.com)
