According to a report by AFP, president Rouhani warned today that Iran may abandon the Nuclear Deal struck in 2015 if US sanctions on the country continue.

Calling Trump out as ‘not a good partner’, Rouhani spoke in parliament in response to Washington’s renewed sanctions after it carried out a series of missile tests which the US claim is in violation of ‘the spirit of the contract’.

Rouhani was recently inaugurated to serve in his second term as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and played a very pivotal role in the negotiations which led to the nuclear deal.

Under the agreement Iran is subject to a series of restrictions on how much uranium it can produce amongst other things in exchange of the lifting of economic sanctions.
