Iran's Tae Kwon Do Federation announced Tuesday that player Hadi Saee ranked first among the world tae kwon do athletes (fifth weight) according to the latest rating of the world best players in this sport, reported Tehran Times newspaper.
Saee, one of two tae kwon do players who will compete in Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, scored 130 points in the rating to take first place, said the paper.
Tamer Abdol Monem of Egypt, and Aziz Ocharaki of Germany, ranked second and third respectively.
Majid Aflaki, another Iranian tae kwon do player who will compete in Sydney scored 80 points and ranked third in the seventh weight after two Korean athletes.
In addition to Saee and Aflaki, 11 other tae kwon do players from Iran are among the first 20 in different weights, said the paper - Albawaba.com
