At least 10 policemen have been killed after an attack by unidentified gunmen in Rawah, northwest of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
The attack was carried out on Sunday evening at a police station in the city.
Reports also stated that the attackers set fire to an army position in the area.
Sectarian tensions are increasing in Iraq, which saw its deadliest day of bombings last weekend, with 60 Sunni Muslims killed in attacks across Baghdad. Mass protests have erupted over recent months among Sunni groups, who fear they are being marginalised by Nuri al-Maliki's Shia-dominated government.
