Islamic Relief Chief Receives Afghani Minister in Jeddah

Secretary General of the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO) Adnan bin Khalil Basha met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday Afghani minister of borders and tribes, Jalaluddeen Hakkani, accompanied by chairman of the Afghani red crescent society Abdullah Muhajir and assistant Afghan consul general in Jeddah Mawlawi Ali Mohammed, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).  

Basha said that the “IIRO which is supported by the Saudi government and the philanthropists in the kingdom will spare no effort in extending assistance to the brotherly Afghani people.  

The agency said the IIRO allocated last year more than SR 6.5 million ($1.7m) for financing its relief projects and programs in Afghanistan. 

Saudi Arabia is among three countries that recognize the Afghani ruling Taliban movement. The others are Pakistan and the UAE –Albawaba.com
