Israel will pay for the F-4 Turkish fighter planes whose modernization renovations have been improperly made, reported the Turkish Daily News on Wednesday.

“15 of the F-4s modernized by Israeli IAI had some complications with the isolation of the fuel tanks and their flights had been temporarily suspended,” a statement by Turkey’s defense ministry said, cited by the paper.

Stressing that the F-4s were taken by the Turkish side after both Turkish and Israeli pilots tested the modernized planes, the statement said the “fuel trickle had been detected in 15 of the modernized warplanes and their flights were suspended because of this.”

After talks with the Israeli authorities, the Israelis agreed to repair the damaged planes as the warranty period for them had not expired – Albawaba.com
