Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli shelling of the towns of Ramallah and Beireh Saturday evening.

Albawaba.com’s correspondent, who was at the scene, said that the fierce attack was still underway and much damage was caused to the residential areas hit “randomly” by the Israeli tanks.

Osama Khalil Bawab, 28, and Majid Hussein Radwan, 32, were killed in the attack on Beireh, while many were injured, Palestinian sources said.

Earlier, four Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli troops in clashes in with the Israeli forces, while a fifth, Abdullah Abu Marzouq, died of injuries he sustained from a bullet he received in the head in Jenin Friday.

Israeli reserve staff sergeant Avner Shalom, 28, died from his wounds in the Sorocca de Beer Sheba hospital a few hours after being shot by Palestinians near the Jewish settlements of Gush Katif, said AFP.

He was driving in a jeep with another soldier when a Palestinian car overtook them and two Palestinian customs officers inside opened fire, according to the Israeli military.

The troops then returned fire and in the exchange that followed, two Palestinians, Mohammed Yassin al-Madhun, 24, et Munzer Hammad Yassin, 23, were killed, with two Israelis wounded, the spokesman told the agency.

Two other Palestinians were killed during the day -- Mussa el-Dekis, 15, shot in the chest during clashes at Erez, the main crossing point between the Gaza Strip and Israel, and Monib Abu Munshar, shot in the heart during a clash between Palestinians throwing stones and Israeli troops in the West Bank town of Hebron.

Another four people were injured then, three of them with live bullets.

With Saturday’s fatalities the death toll of Palestinians and Arabs in Israel rises to 201, while 15 Israelis were killed in the violence that erupted on September 28, according to Albawaba.com’s count.
