ALBAWABA- The Israeli army has announced the assassination of Khader Al-Shihabi, Hezbollah's commander in the Shebaa Farms area, who was allegedly responsible for firing rockets at Majdal Shams.

According to Israeli media, 20 shells struck the Israeli town of Metula on the border with Lebanon during five rocket barrages launched from Lebanon, causing fires in multiple locations.

A house in Metula was destroyed after being hit by a missile, according to the Israeli Fire Authority.

In retaliation, Israel launched artillery shelling on a Lebanese army site, wounding five Lebanese civilians in a raid on a house in Kaifun, Mount Lebanon.

The situation escalated with intensive flights of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft over Beirut's southern suburbs, where another Israeli raid targeted a Hezbollah intelligence and communications site.

Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that the airstrikes, guided by intelligence, hit key Hezbollah intelligence infrastructure, including command headquarters, information-gathering tools, and strategic assets.

Hezbollah's Intelligence Branch, responsible for building an intelligence network against Israel, is central to its confrontation efforts with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

According to The New York Times, Israel's recent deployment of a fifth division on the Lebanon border signals the growing intensity of the conflict and the formidable challenge posed by Hezbollah's advanced forces.
