ALBAWABA- The Israeli army is currently launching new, intensified raids on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon. Israeli warplanes have struck areas between the towns of Toura and Abbasiya, while another raid targeted Mashghara in the western Bekaa.
Additional airstrikes hit the Ain and Reji areas in Ghazieh, southern Lebanon.
These attacks come after an unprecedented escalation, with Israeli airstrikes covering many parts of Lebanon, including the capital, Beirut, where Hezbollah's air force commander was assassinated in a raid carried out by a US-made F-35 warplane.
In retaliation, Hezbollah launched a salvo of rockets targeting the "Mishar" base, Israel’s main intelligence headquarters for the northern region.
Internationally, the US Secretary of Defense, following a meeting with his British and Australian counterparts, warned of the growing risk of a comprehensive war.
Both the US and the UK are advocating for a ceasefire, with the British Foreign Office calling for a 21-day truce along the Lebanese-Israeli border, as well as in Gaza.
The US Defense Secretary emphasized that a diplomatic solution remains viable, stating that it is the best way to ensure the safe return of displaced people on both sides.
