The Israeli Supreme Court rejected Sunday the appeal by Harel Hershtick from Kibbutz Degania Bet who was convicted of the murder of snake trapper Ya'akov Sela four-and-a-half years ago, Haaretz reported Monday.
A panel of three Justices decided that there was no room for their intervening in the ruling of the District Court, which rejected Hershtick's defense, and ruled that the alibi of Hershtick was false and that there was sufficient evidence to convict him, the paper added.
Citing the court record, the daily said Sela and Hershtick were friends. Hershtick owed Sela money which he could not pay. Hershtick and another friend, Danny King, convinced Sela to accompany them to Haifa and on the way killed him with a pistol, which belonged to Hershtick's mother, according to the daily - Albawaba.com
