Israeli forces arrested Sunday two Palestinians for alleged involvement in acts of terrorism against Israelis, reported The Jerusalem Post newspaper.

The two, from the Houssan village west of Bethlehem, are specifically suspected of involvement in the execution of bomb attacks against civilian or military targets, said the paper.

The suspects were sought and arrested based on information gathered during interrogations of Fateh activists by Israeli security services, it added.

On Saturday, three Palestinian photographers were beaten up by Jewish settlers in Hebron as they photographed settlers clashing with the West Bank city's Palestinian residents, said AFP.

The three photographers, Hosam Abu Alan of Agence France-Presse (AFP), Nael Shiukhi and Mazan Daana of Reuters, were hospitalized with light injuries.

The photographers had gone to take photographs of settlers on the occasion of the Jewish festival of Purim, during which Jews dress in costume, AFP said.

Separately, fighting broke out when Jewish settlers stopped Palestinian cars along a road. Shots were fired and a settler was wounded in the foot, military and hospital sources said.

Shooting incidents between Israeli forces and Palestinians continued overnight in the Gaza Strip and different West Bank cities.

The daily Haaretz newspaper reported that Palestinian gunmen fired at an Israeli outpost on Mount Grizim overlooking the West Bank city of Nablus.

Soldiers returned fire, but there were no injuries, it said.

Also on Saturday, the Israeli army destroyed a Palestinian Authority police outpost in the northern Gaza Strip, said Haaretz.

According to a military spokesman, “the post was being used as an observation point and as a location from where powerful explosive devices were being activated against IDF troops.” – Albawaba.com
