Israeli forces shot and injured two Palestinians on Tuesday near the Zaatara military checkpoint, south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank.
Witnesses said two “youths” were wounded, and that Israeli forces closed down the checkpoint in both directions shortly after the incident.
Israeli media reported that the two allegedly attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against soldiers stationed in the area. No injuries were reported.
An Israeli border police spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been shot, detained, or killed over alleged attempted stabbing attacks against Israeli army soldiers since October 2015.
