ALBAWABA- Lebanese authorities have arrested Yehoshua Tertakovisky, an Israeli citizen posing as a British journalist, in the suburbs of Beirut. Tertakovisky was found holding a British passport when he was detained.
Israeli Army Radio, quoting a security source, confirmed the arrest of the Israeli citizen despite his entry under the guise of a journalist and British citizenship. This arrest adds to the ongoing tensions in the region, particularly concerning espionage activities.
Yehoshua Tertakovisky, an Israeli national, was arrested in Beirut's southern suburbs while posing as a journalist. He was found carrying both Israeli and British passports.
In a related incident, a significant barrage of rockets was launched from Lebanon, targeting Safed and surrounding areas in northern Israel, triggering sirens in over 40 towns, including the Golan Heights.
Israeli interceptor missiles were seen exploding over southern Lebanese border villages in response. Earlier reports from Israel's Channel 12 confirmed the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and eight injured in a rocket strike on Haifa, with one in serious condition.
In retaliation, Israeli forces conducted six air raids on the town of Shebaa in southern Lebanon. As a result, six people were killed and 25 others wounded when an Israeli bombing hit a shelter in Wardaniyeh, Mount Lebanon, which was supervised by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
This escalation marks a growing intensity in the regional conflict as both sides continue exchanging fire.
