Israeli occupation forces operating in the West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday afternoon killed a prominent leader of the Islamic Jihad in the area, Naaman Tahaineh, Palestinian sources reported. Another Palestinian was wounded.
Tahaineh was killed when troops opened fire at the vehicle in which he was riding, near the Jordanian Hospital in Jenin's al-Zahra neighbourhood. Three other Palestinians were arrested.
In the Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers wounded Tuesday a Palestinian in Rafah City and arrested two others in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khanyounis, witnesses said.
Witnesses said that Mo’men al-Tabsh 20, was shot in the left leg when Israeli soldiers positioned at the borderline Salah al-Deen Gate opened heavy fire at nearby houses.
In the meantime, locals said that Israeli tanks stormed al-Qarara village, started a search campaign and arrested Ziad Abu Thaher and Hany Abu Thaher, leading them to an unknown place, WAFA reported.
Meanwhile, Israeli heavy bulldozers, backed by tanks, razed vast areas of arable land belonging to al-Farrah, al-Qedra, Abu Obeid and Abu Srhan families. Witnesses added that occupation troops closed the central Gaza Strip military checkpoint of Abu Holi with cement blocks, splitting the Strip into two separated areas. (albawaba.com)
