Serbia’s Jat Airways has awarded multiple contracts to Mercator, IT solutions provider of the Emirates Group, selecting its RAPID revenue accounting solutions and Oracle ERP implementation services.
Jat Airways has opted for both the passenger and cargo versions of Mercator’s RAPID to fully cover all the airline’s revenue accounting requirements. The solution takes data from used air tickets and air waybills and extracts the crucial financial and strategic details needed to compete effectively and profitably.
Dragan Buktaravic, Jat Airways’ IT Director, said: “Mercator has a proven track record of Oracle implementations in airlines, and we will benefit greatly from their expertise. Upon project completion, we will enjoy simplified and faster decision-making and much lower costs. In addition, RAPID will give us the financial information needed to increase competitiveness and protect profits. Together, these projects will transform the way we do business.
Benefits for Jat Airways will include increased revenue, heightened productivity, greatly reduced accounting costs and streamlined processes. The system will also deliver timely and accurate information, improving strategic planning and tactical reaction.
Jat Airways has also signed up for the consulting services essential to its rollout of Oracle’s E-Business Suite, laying solid foundations for its future growth. The Oracle applications centralise and streamline core airline business functions and Mercator specialists will implement the key modules of finance, human resources and procurement.
Patrick Naef, Senior Vice President, IT Emirates Group and Head of Mercator, said: “This latest deal with Jat Airways has highlighted Mercator’s solid reputation for proven quality solutions coupled with expertise and implementation skills of IT professionals that is second-to-none. We will prove ourselves yet again at Jat Airways, and I look forward to seeing the promised benefits becoming a reality.”
Mercator’s consulting professionals have already implemented Oracle applications at Emirates, SriLankan, Air Malta, and Virgin Atlantic and this work is now bringing them major benefits. The family of RAPID customers is large and varied, including major names such as Air New Zealand, British Airways, Emirates Airline, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways and SriLankan Airlines.
Jat Airways has been flying scheduled passenger and cargo services for 60 years, serving more than 35 cities throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. More than one million people travelled with Jat Airways last year.
