Emerson Process Management, a wholly-owned Emerson company offering the most innovative and broadest array of process automation solutions, has donated a PlantWeb Cruiser valued at $165,000 to Jubail Industrial College, Saudi Arabia's largest and most sophisticated hands-on technical institute.
The Emerson PlantWeb Cruiser was officially donated at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at the College. The MoU was signed between Dr. Adel S. Bahakeem, Managing Director of Jubail Industrial College and Dr. Mohamed M. Elawny, General Manager of Emerson Process Management, in Saudi Arabia in the presence of other key senior representatives from both parties.
Dr. Mohamed Elawny said, "The PlantWeb Cruiser is a full-sized process simulator that integrates real measurement instrumentation from Rosemount and Micro Motion, Fisher Control Elements and a DeltaV control system that will provide the students with hands-on experience of the actual working conditions of a process plant and control room.
Part of a four-year program to maintain a high standard of equipment and the latest technology, Emerson will also provide technical support to the faculty on the use and maintenance of the process simulator, with investments running into hundreds of thousands of dollars."
"Jubail Industrial College is committed to providing Saudi Arabia with technically trained quality manpower and we are sure that our efforts will assist in their endeavor, and also ensure maximum benefit for the students", added Elawny.
Affirming his support to the continued cooperation between Emerson Process Management and JIC and expressing his appreciation for their kind gesture, Dr. Adel S. Bahakeem, Managing Director of Jubail Industrial College added, "We are confident that this process simulator will go a long way in boosting the knowledge of our students and enhance their skill level. The demand for highly-skilled and well-trained personnel is on the rise in the Kingdom and this PlantWeb Cruiser will ensure that our students are better equipped to take on challenges."
"JIC was established with the aim of serving the educational and training needs of Jubail Industrial City and the local and regional community. This process simulator also provides us with the potential and capability of providing training to the industry in Jubail through seminars and workshops", added Bahakeem.
The MoU underscores Emerson's contribution to enhancing the capabilities of the students at Jubail Industrial College and the commitment from the college to ensuring the integration of the PlantWeb Cruiser and training material into their curriculum.
