Rocker Jon Bon Jovi showed his support for American presidential candidate Al Gore by throwing a house party.
Following the news that shock-rocker Marilyn Manson pledged
allegiance to Republican Governor George W. Bush, clean-cut Jon held a fundraiser for Gore at his home in New Jersey on Wednesday
October 4, 2000.
Guests paid between $1,500 and $37,500 to watch the Bed Of Roses star and guitarist Richie Sambora play
acoustic versions of their hits Livin’ On A Prayer and Wanted Dead Or Alive. The event raised almost $1.5 million for Gore's campaign fund.
After the performance, excited Gore told the audience, "we are
all hoping to remember this evening for a long time. This may be
the single most fun event of the entire campaign” – Wenn.
